Breakfast at the hotel.<\/p>\n

This is the pretty fireplace that we love.<\/p>\n

Our itinerary on Day 2 was to drive to Pismo Beach via the Pacific Coast Highway, a twisting and cliff-hugging route along the California coast. We had drove on the Pacific Coast Highway previously in 2009<\/a>, but this time we would be stopping at different locations for sightseeing. Our first stop of the day was the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which was less than an hour drive away from Gilroy.<\/p>\n

12:00 PM Monterey Bay Aquarium<\/strong><\/p>\n

We arrived at\u00c2 Monterey Bay Aquarium at noon because we made a detour to Target.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Included the aquarium to our itinerary because R loves aquariums.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It was freezing outside.<\/p>\n

14:30 PM The Fish Hopper<\/strong><\/p>\n

We had wanted to have lunch at Bubba Gump, which is just a few minutes walk away from Monterey Bay Aquarium, but were too hungry to wait for our seats. We went opposite to The Fish Hopper instead as the queue seemed to be shorter.<\/p>\n

16:00 PM Pacific Coast Highway California Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n

We love the scenic drive along the Pacific Coast Highway and kept stopping the car to snap photos.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

18:30 PM Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

What were those on the shore?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

They were all sleeping!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A closer look at the sleeping seals. A bit scary because they were not moving, looked like they were dead.<\/p>\n

20:00 PM Hampton Inn & Suites Arroyo Grande\/Pismo Beach Area<\/strong><\/p>\n

We continued driving until Pismo Beach. *The Pacific Coast Highway is currently temporary closed due to recent storms. As a result, Google Map couldn’t generate the route we took hence I couldn’t attach the map here.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We had Chinese food for dinner at Panda Express from nearby and called it a day after the long drive.<\/p>\n
