Breakfast was not provided at Sunrise BnB so we drove around Hualien searching for food after checking out. The roads were quiet and shops were still closed even though it was already 9+ in the morning. Fortunately we spotted Carrefour on our way out of Hualien and decided to try our luck there.<\/p>\n

We began our drive to Nantou\u00c2\u00a0via the Taroko Gorge. The Hehuanshan road is currently the only paved road across the Central Mountains. The roads are said to be curvy and narrow throughout, considered a dangerous and difficult road by drivers.<\/p>\n
