We were late! We were supposed to be there at 14:30 PM for the Ground Zero tour.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The 2 hour tour will start from St. Paul’s Chapel.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We missed the first few minutes of the briefing. After catching the last few bits of the briefing, we were taken on a short tour around the chapel. The chapel, which miraculously survived the September 11, 2001 attack, served as a place of rest and refuge for recovery workers at the WTC site after the attack.<\/p>\n

This steel t-beam was left standing in the rubble of Building Six of the WTC 2 days after September, 2001. It became a symbol of hope, faith and healing for many rescue and recovery workers searching the WTC site for the remains of thousands who perished in the terroist attacks.<\/p>\n

This cross will be housed in the National September 11 Memorial Museum.<\/p>\n

There were 2 baseballs left on the middle of the beam by a mother to her son who was missing after the September 11 attack.<\/p>\n

A cover was placed over the baseballs to protect them from the weather.<\/p>\n

The 1st new building at the WTC site is the 7\u00c2\u00a0World Trade Center, which opened in May 2006.<\/p>\n
