After almost 2\u00c2\u00bdyears with our Copen, we had a sudden urge to change to a larger car. We had been shopping around for a few months. Some of the cars that we had considered are Honda Stream, Subaru Legacy, Subaru Impreza WRX, Subaru Exiga, Mazda 8 and Mazda RX8. We nearly bought an Exiga for its supersize panoramic glass roof but after thorough consideration, we decided to let it go since we do not need such a large car.<\/p>\n

Finally… we found one<\/p>\n

Made an appointment after work for the 1st viewing of car. It was perfect – not too big, large sunroof and best of all, it’s WHITE!<\/p>\n

With Amir, we arranged a 2nd viewing of the car in the morning but the seller, Alvin,\u00c2\u00a0 had to leave due to some emergency hence our trip down was wasted. However, Alvin drove all the way down to Kallang McDonald’s to meet us in the evening. BOUGHT! We placed a $1K deposit and took a few photos of the car.<\/p>\n

The car’s original number plate was SJT7874A, which doesn’t sound very nice in Mandarin, \u00e5\u017d\u00bb\u00e5\u0090\u00a7\u00e5\u017d\u00bb\u00e6\u00ad\u00bb. Should we retain, buy a new number or transfer our current number over?<\/p>\n

12 Jul 2010 – 16 Jul 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n

3 parties contacted us for the details of our Copen but only 2 of them, a car dealer and an individual, offered a price for the car. The individual responded to us on the next day that he was unable to afford the car as he was unable to get a bank loan. Our Copen would go to the car dealer.<\/p>\n

17 Jul 2010, Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n

While out shopping, we received a new request to view our Copen. As it was still early, we went to one of the carpark along East Coast Park to take some photos of our Copen.<\/p>\n

We drove down to Margarets Drive to meet Ryan, the guy who called us earlier.<\/p>\n

JR & Ryan went for a test drive while I waited at the carpark.<\/p>\n

18 July 20<\/strong>10, Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ryan offered us a price which was $1,500 higher than what the dealer offered. We met him in the afternoon and got the papers signed. He gave us a deposit of $2k.<\/p>\n

Our Copen is SOLD! \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n

Our car loan for the Legacy was confirmed.<\/p>\n

22 July 2010, Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n

We bought the car insurance, which will start on 27 Jul 2010.<\/p>\n

24 July 2010, Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n

We managed to delay the handover of our Copen to Ryan for another 2 days so we would not be without a car for the weekend. We went out driving around Singapore, from Pasir Ris to Tuas, made several stops along the way to take farewell photos with our Copen.<\/p>\n

Rushed off from work to catch the Jurong bus and met JR at IMM. We had dinner and waited patiently for our Legacy to arrive.\u00c2\u00a0 Alvin arrived at IMM at 8 PM sharp. He handed the car over to us, highlighting some of points to note with the car and we sent him home. We headed home after that and brought our Mark & darlings out for a spin. We lowered the back seats down so the dogs can have the more room to run around. The 2 stupid dogs urined and shitted on the carpet! \u00e4\u00b8\u008d\u00e7\u0178\u00a5\u00e8\u00af\u00a5\u00e5\u201c\u00ad\u00e8\u00bf\u02dc\u00e6\u02dc\u00af\u00e8\u00af\u00a5\u00e7\u00ac\u2018. Anyway, we proceed with our plans and drove out. We brought the carpet home to wash that night…<\/p>\n
