Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve<\/strong><\/p>\n

Back to our usual Saturday activity – Visit to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Sungei buloh Wetland Reserve is a nature reserve located in the Northwest area of Singapore. It was gazetted as a nature reserve in 2002 and is recognised as a site of international importance for migratory birds.<\/p>\n

Floor mat with antibacterial solution. Visitors to Sungei Buloh will step on this floor mat when going in and out of the nature reserve so the eco-system will not be contaminated by foreign materials.<\/p>\n

The Mangrove Boardwalk is 500 meters has 4 shelters and takes about 30 minutes to walk.<\/p>\n

Torch Ginger<\/strong><\/p>\n

Small pink flakes from the buds of the torch ginger flower is used to sprinkle over our laksa.<\/p>\n

The Excoecaria agallocha<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is also know as “Blind-your Eyes”.<\/span><\/span> The white latex from these trees is poisonous.

The route circles two main ponds and passes the Aquatic Plant Pond where you can see a good collection of aquatic plants. The route is approximately 3 km and takes 1-2 hr walk.<\/p>\n
